Unconventional Home Gym – Monday’s POP topic
When trying to lose weight, we have learned that there are three keys: managing your food intake/nutrition; changing your behavior in regard to food; and exercise, exercise, exercise.
The Pounds Off Pulaski (POP) meeting for Monday, February 22, will focus on exercise. Patricia Burton, Lake Cumberland District Health Department Health Educator III, will give helpful hints on exercising in your own home. The program will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Conference Center on the basement level of the East Tower.
Some people are concerned because they can’t afford a gym membership or they may feel their neighborhoods are not well-suited for walking, jogging, or biking. But, there are still some great, creative ways to maintain a good exercise regimen.
Patricia’s “Unconventional Home Gym” program teaches you how to exercise in your own home, utilizing common household items. This fun, interactive presentation will prepare attendees to get creative in becoming more fit.
Pounds Off Pulaski is a 12-week county-wide weight loss challenge sponsored by Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce. Participants may weigh in beginning at 5:00 p.m. each Monday evening prior to the meeting.
At the end of the challenge, the male and female who have the highest percentage of weight loss will win $500 each. The second place male and female will be awarded $300.
