History
The Lake Cumberland Surgery Center (LCSC) opened in December, 2001 as a multi-specialty outpatient surgical facility.
Located on the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital campus, the 12,680 square-foot center opened with two operating rooms and one endoscopy room. Two years later, the center became a joint venture partnership with local surgeons and expanded to include three operating rooms and two endoscopy rooms in service.
With a current staff of over 40 team members and 25 physicians, the center averages between 600 and 700 procedures each month. Surgical procedures offered at the LCSC include the following specialties: ENT, general surgery, gastroenterology, gynecology, ophthalmology, oral-maxillofacial, orthopedics, pediatric and adult dentistry, podiatry, and urology. All surgeons and anesthesiologists who practice at the LCSC are also credentialed to provide services at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
We think you will find that having your surgical procedure performed at our outpatient facility offers several advantages. There is convenient parking close to the door, a pleasant waiting area for friends and loved ones, and quicker patient turn-around - making the wait for both patients and families shorter.
Because quality and excellent patient care are important to us at Lake Cumberland Surgery Center, we voluntarily undergo frequent surveys from accreditation agencies to help us be the best we can be. We are pleased say that we have maintained full accreditation with the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) since our inception, with the most recent survey completed in July, 2020.
